Benefits of Group Fitness Classes

Group Fitness Classes are a new and popular in todays times. Why are people so attracted to these classes instead of the personalized programs that come from a personal trainer? There are many reasons but for now we will focus on the main 6. 1. Motivation – It is motivating and inspiring to be surrounded by like-minded people with similar goals and desires. It doesn’t get much better than having a friend working hard by your side and an encouraging instructor that takes everyone to new limits! 2. Structure – Group fitness is a great way to get a workout in without having to think or plan. Each class is structured with a warm-up, a balanced workout and a cool-down. The warm-up is designed to help you properly raise your heart rate (without being too hard) while loosening your joints and muscles before going into strenuous activity. The instructor will coach you through each segment of the workout. The cool-down will help you safely lower your heart rate and stretch all the major muscles worked during class. 3. Proper Form – The instructor’s job is to not only show proper form but also to ensure all participants are correctly performing the designated activity.  4. Options – With group fitness classes you have almost limitless options for exercise. For example, here at Dragon Fire Fitness we have meditation, boot camp, cardio kickboxing, self defense, and obstacle course groups. No matter what your favorite activity is there is probably a group out there for you! If you’re not sure, go try one.  Meet new people and have fun!  5. Schedule – When signing up for a group class, you are shown the schedule of time the class will be held. Therefore, you are held accountable to that time period as “group time” and making you more likely to go exercise than as if you made your own schedule. 6. Cost –  This is probably one of the biggest factors for people to join group fitness classes. They are considerably less expensive than personal training.  Although, Dragon Fire Fitness is already very reasonably priced, group classes are even more so. No matter your budget, investing in your health is always a great investment!
